After over a month of talking about it and sorting through hundreds of entries, it’s time for the UBMe Contest show. Yep. I’ve gotta be me and WHOOSH, am I excited about it.

Last Sunday I attended a workshop with my friend and frequent show guest Dougall Fraser. The workshop was terrific. (I want to devote a special blog to the experience and will do so next week) In one of the group exercises,we split into pairs and did practice readings. We were taken through a meditation and then spent quite a while focusing on the aura of the other person. We then came back into the larger group to talk about the experience. My workshop partner was very accurate about many of the things she saw about me and my energy. She was spot-on about a lot of things, but imagine my response when one of the first things she said was that she could see that I have an ability to speak on behalf of others and about causes, but that I seem to have trouble speaking about myself!  Ruh- rho, Scooby Doo! Apparently this show couldn’t come at a better time for me. I’m all about the new experience and stretching, so here goes. Imma get my Sammy Davis Junior on!

As I have said so many times, my favorite thing about doing the radio show is getting to know all of you.  The UBMe Contest has been a great opportunity to do just that. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who entered. The questions that were submitted ranged from insightful to insane (but the very good kind).

Today is the one year anniversary of the day that I received a telephone call from Cheryl Richardson telling me that I had been chosen to host a show on Hay House Radio. Although I was pretty sure that there were loads of LGBTQ people in the personal development and spirit loving community, I had no idea if the show would find an audience. I’m happy to say that your response has exceeded all expectations.  YOU have made this show something that is unique and can’t be found anywhere else. Together, we are exploring a new kind of connection.

Since it’s debut last winter, the show I originally envisioned has morphed and expanded and rounded in ways I never imagined. Not only have I been humbled by the mountains of mail I have received from all of you, I’m grateful for how you have changed my view of the world. Thank you. A simple message about the beauty, power and GIFT of being yourself has become a group conversation about authenticity and how in the end, we’re all diversely one. Sharing our experiences deepens our connection and looking at life through the prism of another persons worldview helps us understand ourselves.

I couldn’t be more thrilled at the choice the Universe (with some help from Barbara Carrellas) chose for the task and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who entered. The drawing was random but the outcome seems to be a perfect representation of the variety of entries. The show will be co-hosted by a gay man (Rick Clemons) and a straight woman (Karen Auld). Nice combo, don’t you think?
So here they are- Your co-hosts for this week’s edition of Out From the Inside-
